Celebrities are everything that everyone wants to be. Glamorous, famous, and popular. They can get everything they could possibly want within seconds and they live the most surreal lives. Honestly, who wouldn't to be them? On the flip side, glamour isn't all the things we see about celebrities, because many times, ugly scandals take over every magazine, online source and print media of the public. The funny thing is, the paparazzi wont even second guess at anything- if the stats can brew up a hot cover story for the public then it becomes real- even if the scandal itself is nothing more than a sick rumour somebody in the media made up.
The way celebrities are treated are unfair and they don't deserve to have their lives written all over the Internet. Everyone needs privacy-whether you're a hot celebrity or just a typical teenager trying to get through pimple breakouts. Celebrities are normal human beings like us, and they should have the decency to keep stuff away from the public eye.We'd feel exposed in a terrified way, like someone's invaded into personal space and we can't keep them out. It is both horrific and it truly hurts the person being targetted on.
It becomes too far for a paparazzi to target on celebrities when they cross family related issues, relationships, friendships or when the press talk rude and nasty stuff about them. I think what is acceptable for a celebrity or for a human being to tolerate is simple gossip. The paparazzi could definitely write stuff about their childhood or how their life story came to a success but they should leave out parts about certain mishaps that happened in their lives. If maybe they had a sudden health issue or they went through tramatizing events in the past, they wouldnt want the whole world to laugh at them and judge them based on such. Paparazzi may just sell their stories out and get a million hits and comments on their cover story and be satisfied with the money and reactions of the public, but the impact on their victims are life changing-in a bad way. As well, paparazzi use the fastest and greatest advantage of releasing their stories-through the media, which means EVERYONE WILL SEE. Because of the fact that almost everyone carries a phone, Ipod, or a laptop, anyone can go on the Internet and be exposed to these stories. It is the best way for a paparazzi to attract the public and it is the most dangerous one for the celebrity whose life is on display in every popular webpage. There is no way to stop these published stories. The Internet is simply horrific in what it can do.
A paparazzi scandal that occured recently was when the paparrazi decided to publish topless photos of the royal family's Kate Middleton. She found out and boy, was she mad! The case even led to suing of the paparazzi who took those photos and brought huge controversy to the company who published it. Kate's body was exposed to the public and millions of copies of those photos had been sold and bought. The paparazzi said they had the freedom and right to do so, and had the right to write whatever they wanted. This scandal is repulsive and offensive. They shouldn't publish topless photos of anyone without the person's consent, because it's their body that's being exposed to the world! Every person should have the right to keep their body to themselves and have the right to the welfare of their own body. It's not right and the scandal just crosses the line. Presenting these types of photos presses their insecurity and fear of how others will take it. Once topless photos are out there, people treat them disgustingly and abusively.
In the same way, if someone else were to invade my privacy, I'd feel really angry and offended because the things I'd never want people to find out about would be leaked. Myself, and everything about me would be judged and talked about by others. It's not fair that others can see things that I have the right to control over.
